Managing Change
Why talk about Managing Change when we are all doing it constantly? In fact, ironically, change has now become the status quo. Understanding the need for change, as well as leading a change process is often part of a managers job. There are several practical techniques that managers can use to help people to cope with the change/s that they are confronted with. And there are also several techniques that staff can use in the change process, whether or not they are managing people.
Aims of the workshop include:
- Interpersonal skills necessary for the introduction of change.
- Approaches to dealing with change successfully
Who should attend:
- This course can be for staff & managers combined in the same course or a separate course for Staff and for Managers. For the separate course the approach will be adjusted according to whether it is Staff or Managers.
A typical one day program may include the following elements:-
- Introduction & Expectations
- Listening and Sharing Information - two essentials
- Which staff (as a manager) have you included/excluded so far?
- Change - the stages that people may go through
- The Myers Briggs Type Indicator
- The Forcefield Analysis - a technique to get everyone to contribute if you are a manager and as a staff member understanding the ways and benefits of contributing.
- Where your staff or you are now in relation to change.
- Review and Conclusion
